The 2009 Walk to Cure Diabetes was held on Saturday, October 24 at Mayes Lake at LeFleur’s Bluff State Park. Over 1,500 attended the Walk and an astounding $530,000 was raised to support needed research to improve the lives of everyone living with diabetes. The kids all had a fabulous time and enjoyed “their day.” Of course, the Mississippi Chapter could not have supported such a great event without the help of our generous sponsors, wonderful volunteers, and dedicated participants. For all that you do – thank you!

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation’s (JDRF) Annual Corporate Breakfast was held on June 4, 2009 at the River Hills Club. This event introduces the Walk Corporate Chair to our sponsorship community, and to the Board of Directors. We are lucky to have David Gates, President of the Mississippi Division of Atmos Energy as our Corporate Chair this year, and we know he and the employees at Atmos will do a fantastic job!
